What We Do

3RiversHUG is a forum for southwestern Pennsylvania public, private, and academic organizations that use HAZUS software and related technologies to develop public policy and programs for building disaster-resistant communities.

To offer a forum for southwestern Pennsylvania public, private, and academic organizations that use HAZUS-MH software and related technologies to develop public policy and programs for building disaster-resistant communities.

3RiversHUG Objectives

To advance opportunities for training in the use of HAZUS-MH software and technology,

To be a resource for hazard mitigation information and data,

To encourage and assist local governments in the establishment of hazard mitigation protocols,

To be a conduit for communication among public, private and third-sector (not-for-profit) institutions for hazard mitigation efforts and best management practices.

FEMA Administrator Fugate Swears In MaryAnn Tierney As Regional Administrator
PHILADELPHIA – Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate on Monday swore in MaryAnn Tierney as Regional Administrator for FEMA Region III, which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Tierney served previously as the Deputy Managing Director for Emergency Management for the city of Philadelphia.
$12.6 million for recovery in seven weeks
BEAVER, W. Va. -- Federal disaster assistance funding has reached $12.6 million to help homeowners, renters, business owners, and government agencies in West Virginia recover from the June 2010 flooding.
August 23 Is Last Day To Register For Disaster Assistance
BEAVER, W. Va. -- Officials working on the June storm recovery in West Virginia remind residents with storm-related losses to register for disaster assistance by Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 and to stay in touch through toll-free phone lines.
