FIT Tool Errors and Crashing

I have been unsuccessfully trying to work with the FIT tool for weeks. The HAZUS Help Desk has used my data and run the tool without any difficulty. They have been unable to provide me with a solution. I have received the following errors, and ArcMap has been crashing constantly.

I am using ArcGIS 10 and HAZUS 2.0. I have tried 2 machines - one is Windows XP 32-bit and the other is Windows 7 32-bit.

Error in module: ToggleGraphicsVisibility
91—Object variable or With block variable not set

Run-Time Error ‘75’: Path/File Access Error

Run-Time Error ‘440’: Automation Error

I have tried the following:

1. Upgraded to ArcGIS 10 Service Pack 2 (per HAZUS Help Desk recommendation)
2. Using “V” shapes to define the upstream/downstream limits (per HAZUS Help Desk recommendation)
3. Clipping DEM to flood area polygon
4. Reinstalling ArcGIS and HAZUS
5. Storing data and mxds on my C drive
6. Storing data and mxds on the company network

Does anyone have any suggestions?

HAZUS on a Server

Does anyone know if I can install HAZUS-MH MR4 or 5 on a server platform, as opposed to a workstation?

Looks like Hazus-MH MR5 should be released and ready to ship by December 13th.

Orders can be placed starting December 6th.

User Defined Data Analysis

We’re considering running a damage estimate of a few residential and commercial properties likely to be inundated by the 100 and 500-Yr floodplains. What will be the best procudure to import this user-defined data into HAZUS that will enable damage and losses to be calculated since the damge functions are calculated for specifc types of facilities only.

Does the imported data get integrated into the other data types by attribution? For e.g the residential and commercial propeties will go into the General Building Stock? Since HAZUS aggregates the data at the Block Level for flooding, what will the damage losses for the newly added data be estimated?

Region Data

How do we change the data path location for the regions that a HAZUS user creates after installation? There seems to be a way for the default data that comes with HAZUS, but have not been successful with the regions.

Is there a way to get multiple users to be able to access the region data?

Why contribute to the HAZUS Compendium?
The Compendium series offers a good way for users to share their knowledge with others in the HAZUS user community. By bringing together material from a wide range of sources, we are creating a useful resource for HAZUS users, practitioners and professionals. These graphically enhanced articles will be available for distribution at HAZUS User Group meetings, postings on websites, as well as conferences and tradeshows. The author’s name will be listed as the primary contact and they will receive credit for the great work they are doing.

I heard a rumor that MR5 is going to be released this fall—any one know if this is true?

Stream Delineation

Greetings fellow HAZUS users!

For some reason, HAZUS will not delineate streams in my area of interest. It consistently throws errors that indicate that streams were not successfully delineated. I’ve specified everything from a single square mile to 400 sq. miles in the stream delineation dialogue.

Has anyone encountered this problem and, if so, is there a work-a-round?
