NESEC HAZUS and GIS Assistance:
NESEC provides GIS services and HAZUS-MH disaster simulation and damage reports free of charge to all state, county, and local governments within the NESEC region of New England, New York, and New Jersey. You can request services through the NESEC website, pending approval of your project from your state director of emergency management.

Call for Presentations

Please consider sharing your experience and interesting projects with the rest of the NEARC community at this year’s Spring NEARC Conference. We are soliciting posters, panel discussion sessions and presentations. You can sign up for 20-30 min. presentations, or 45-60 min. presentations/panel discussions/workshop. If you have a great idea, new technique or a great project, please share your experience with the rest of us and register your proposal now by clicking here.

Deadline for proposals is Friday, April 10, 2009.

This year we are trying to collect presentations at the end of the day to post them on the NEARC website at http://www.northeastarc.org/. So please make them available as a digital file so we can collect them after your presentation and share them with those that are not fortunate enough to join us at Smith College. Stay tuned to the NEARC website for more information. See you in the Spring!

While we encourage a casual atmosphere in this forum, common courtesy for fellow NEHUG posters is expected. Please do not post insults, slurs or offensive language against anyone regarding their age, gender, ethnicity, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or nationality. Do not post profanity or adult material, and do not link to such inappropriate content. Try not to to submit posts or titles in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, as this is equivalent to shouting.

2. Criticize ideas, not people.
Personal attacks, or anything that might violate someone’s personal privacy against their wishes is not allowed. Flaming and flame baiting are also not allowed.

3. Advertisements and Spam are Prohibited.
Commercial advertisements and spam are not allowed in posts. All phishing and other scams will be deleted as soon as they are detected. Promoting yourself or your website should be directly related to the conversation.

4. Remain on Topic.
Not a big deal, but please don’t be surprised if posts that drift from the topic title are moved to a new thread.

5. Keep this forum for NEHUG Users.
While off-topic posts are fine, please refrain from starting off-topic threads here unless you are a HAZUS user interested in the Northeast.

6. Please Read the TOS.
