I’ll start us off:
My name is Jonathan, and I am the GIS coordinator for the Northeast States Emergency Consortium (NESEC). We come from the emergency management side of the HAZUS user community. We use HAZUS primarily for updating state mitigation plans and providing disaster simulations when a hurricane is threatening our area. In addition, NESEC oversees the HAZUSNET-USA listserv (a national HAZUS email list) and offers all kinds of HAZUS and ArcGIS support to state and local governments within our region.
In addition to running NEHUG, I also moderate the USEHAZUS technical forums. I’ve been using HAZUS for several years now (mainly the hurricane model) and I have taken a few of the HAZUS EMI courses. I’m running HAZUS a lot these days, so I am really glad for the resources of the USEHAZUS forums!
Outside of HAZUS, I do a lot of web design and desktop tech support, and in my (rare) free time I like to do martial arts and hike in the white mountains.
How about yourself?
