Hi everyone,

The North Carolina HAZUS User Group is forming now.

We’re looking for a quality mix of state and local government, university, utility, private sector and non-profit HAZUS users. From that it would be great to have users from all HAZUS levels; users, developers and decision makers. I know there are solid individuals in all of those fields who would have a lot to add to a diverse and dedicated North Carolina user community.

Please respond here or directly if you’d be interested in joining and helping me form this group. I’d also be interested in words of wisdom or lessons learned from others who have background in forming a UG.

The NCHUG is having its first conference call on March 24, 2009 from 2 - 3 PM eastern time.  Please let .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) know if you are interested in participating.

The NCHUG is planning to have its first in-person meeting in August during the National HAZUS Conference in Raleigh, NC.

Reminder NCHUG Kick-off Conference Call tomorrow - 2-3pm Eastern Time.

With attendance from FEMA Region 4, private industry, Camp Lejeune and several North Carolina county government representatives the North Carolina HAZUS User Group (NCHUG) had a kick-off meeting conference call on March 24, 2009.  The group plans to host a Basic HAZUS Course at Camp Lejeune this spring.  Their first in-person conference will be held in conjunction with the National HAZUS Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, August 10-12, 2009.  Visit the North Carolina HAZUS User Group website for more information.
