Has anyone encountered this bug when trying to start floodplain delination (hydraulics) ?

I get an error message saying that CaseOutput is locked up due to an ESRI bug with persoanl Geodatabases (NIM031046). I followed the recommended Hint but find that when I close HAZUS the lock disappears so can’t really delete it. On restarting HAZUS and ropening the senerio the CaseOutput lock reappears and when I attempt to restart Floodplain Delination the same error pops up. I’ve tried doing this a few times closing and reopening HAZUS several times but no luck with it.

I have ArcGIS 9.3 with HAZUS-MH MR3 with Patches 2 and 3 installed.

Thanks.

I had the exact same problem, and technical support was not able to replicate nor solve my problem. I finally stumbled on the answer when I uninstalled the PLTS extension of ArcGIS. If you have PLTS, you’re likely having the same issues I did! Once I uninstalled the extension, I was able to run floodplain delineation without issue.

Just curious, what version of MS Access do you have installed? 2007? or 2003? I have 2007 and HAZUS still uses an earlier version. I am wondering this might be the real culprit?

Nope. =) I’m using Access 2003, so I really don’t think Access is the problem. I didn’t change anything about Access, but removing the PLTS extension did the trick. Are there any extensions or 3rd party tools that might be interfering?

Interesting. Reluctantly uninstalled PLTS Foundation from my machine, and the issue goes away… very strange indeed… let’s hope ESRI fixes this soon…

Yeah, it’s a bummer that there is a conflict with an authorized extension like PLTS. Fortunately, I have another machine on which I can keep PLTS installed. I hope you find a solution balancing the two programs until the conflict is resolved. Good luck. =)

I am getting the same error.  However, I do not have PLTS installed.  Has anybody developed any other workarounds?  Thanks in advance!

Have you tried the Hint that’s on the error message dialog box? I.e. tried deleting Caseoutput.ldb ?

I have HAZUS patches 2 & 3 and am running ArcGIS 9.3.1.  I appreciate your assistance.

Try uninstalling HAZUS Patch 3 and see if that resolves the issue.
