Digital Preliminary Flood Maps for Richland County Ready for Public Viewing

ATLANTA -- Newly revised preliminary digital flood insurance rate maps for Richland County, SC will be available for residents to review at a public open house at the Richland County Office Building on June 24, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. Flood maps show the extent to which areas are at risk for flooding, and are used to help determine flood insurance and building requirements.

Kentucky Storm Survivors Urged to Stay in Touch with FEMA

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky storm survivors who have registered for disaster assistance are urged to stay in touch with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and keep their contact information current throughout the recovery process.

If survivors change their addresses, telephone numbers, bank accounts or insurance information, it is important that they share the new information with FEMA.

Two Kentucky Counties Designated for Public Assistance

FRANKFORT, Ky.  – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has amended a recent disaster declaration for severe winter storms in February in order to make Ballard and Wayne counties eligible for its Public Assistance program.

Local governments and eligible private nonprofit organizations in Ballard and Wayne may apply for federal funds to pay 75 percent of the approved cost of emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities. FEMA’s Public Assistance is a cost-share reimbursement program.
