The New England HUG is a forum for HAZUS-MH users in public, private, and academic organizations in New England to develop, collaborate, and coordinate on disaster-related GIS projects. NEHUG is a forum for HAZUS users to offer technological, academic, and strategic assistance to each other in our collective efforts to build disaster-resistant communities in New England.

Public Assistance Expanded in New Hampshire to Five Counties
TILTON, N.H. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced it is expanding disaster assistance to two additional New Hampshire counties to help pay for repair, restoration, reconstruction or replacement of public facilities, roads and bridges, water facilities and other infrastructure damaged or destroyed by severe storms, tornado, and flooding that occurred on July 24, 2008.

Following is a summary of key federal disaster aid programs that can be made available as needed and warranted under President Bush’s major disaster declaration issued for Vermont.
President Declares Major Disaster For Vermont
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Vermont to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, a tornado, and flooding on July 18, 2008.
