User Study Survey Questions

The objective of the user study is to research the HAZUS trends of HAZUS users. Please take a few moments to answer the questions below. FEMA will use the answers to better understand the needs of the HAZUS user community.

The User Study Survey is divided into three sections:

  1. Help Us Understand Who You Are
  2. How Do you Use HAZUS
  3. HAZUS Training

The purpose of the first survey section (Help Us Understand Who You Are) is to know who uses HAZUS. Specifically, we will learn the gender, age and education level of HAZUS users. We will also learn some basic information about what type of organization they work for and what type of work they do.

The purpose of the second section (How Do You Use HAZUS) will provide information on for what purposes HAZUS is used. For instance, is HAZUS used for mitigation or response and recovery? It will also provide some insight on how many organizations have truly adopted HAZUS by asking questions such as, do you automatically run HAZUS and do other people in your organization use HAZUS?

The third section of the survey (HAZUS Training) is to learn about what training needs may exist among HAZUS users and how the users are most interested in receiving training. Understanding what prohibits users from taking training should help FEMA provide more user friendly training opportunities in the future.
