May 19, 2009 - - - The Spring Edition of The Summit newsletter, a quarterly publication of the Washington Chapter of the Urban & Regional Information Systems Association (WAURISA), recently featured a 3 page article on HAZUS and the newly established Washington HAZUS User Group. This quarterly newsletter reaches a total of 2,600 GIS professionals and contains many interesting articles on GIS projects that are happening throughout Washington State. March 24, 2009 - - - The first meeting of the newly established Washington HAZUS User Group was held at the Washington State Emergency Management (WA-EMD) building at the Washington National Guard Headquarters, Camp Murray, WA on March 19th, 2009. A total of 24 persons attended the meeting on-site with additional attendees listening via conference call and web meeting presentation. Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for the middle to the end of May 2009. At the second meeting we plan to discuss training interests and to talk about successful uses of HAZUS around the country in addition to any potential projects members may have in the works that could be helped with collaboration among the group members.
