View HAZUS Resources at Academic Institutions

Category:HAZUS Resources at Academic Institutions

In recognition for the significant role that academic institutions play in using HAZUS, we are working to create a nationwide list of resources.

What institutions are currently teaching HAZUS courses or have taught HAZUS as part of their curriculum.  Please be specific about the types of courses that these institutions have offered or plan to offer.  For example, are the courses recognized as being authorized by FEMA (such as the E313: Basic HAZUS course) or have they been customized for a specific audience.  If the courses are taught as part of the curriculum, please specify whether they are available for academic credit (if yes, please specify the course title) or whether they are offered on a non-credit basis.  If the courses offered by the institution are not part of the FEMA authorized curriculum, please include a course title, length, intended audience, availability, any associated participant cost, and a detailed description.

What institutions can host HAZUS courses?  This means, they have a computer lab that can be used for HAZUS instruction.  Include information about the number of seats available in the lab.

Who are the qualified professionals at your academic institution who can offer expert analysis based on HAZUS runs and data improvements?  Please indicate the qualifications of these individuals with regard to being able to offer expert assistance on specific hazards and or data management processes. In particular, indicate whether their expertise is in the science of the hazard, the use of HAZUS-MH to assess risk from a hazard, or both.
